Warm up your springtime morning in the beautiful Flanders Woods, then boil your blood on the dreaded three miles of sand.  En route we’ll see Owl, Sears, and Bellows Ponds, and the Maple Swamp. Meet at Spinney Rd. trail parking on C. R. 24; from L.I.E. Exit 71, at foot of exit, turn right onto C.R.24; stay on 24 straight through the traffic circle in Riverhead, head for Hampton Bays; Spinney Road will be on the right, about eight miles from the Expressway; fast pace, only one quick stop for snacks; inclement weather cancels, so call or text to be sure!
