Hike through one of the largest preserved parcels in the Carmans River watershed in central Suffolk County. The hike will proceed along the west side of the river, heading north through woodland to the LIRR Main Line then return on an inland route. Bring water, insect/tick repellant; meet by parking lot northeast corner (right side when entering); inclement weather cancels (text or call if in doubt). Restrooms may be closed. From Sunrise Highway, take Exit 58 North. As you enter Wm. Floyd Parkway, prepare to turn west (left) onto Victory Ave. Follow signs to park (761 Victory Ave., Brookhaven).
