We will meet at the north entrance gate to Connetquot State Park Preserve (walk in- no cars) and hike a portion of the L.I. Trail to the fish hatchery and back; bring water, insect/tick protection; rain cancels; from the L. I.  Expressway take Exit 58 south onto Veterans Memorial Highway (NY 454), continue about 1 ½  miles to the park entrance- just past the intersection with Connetquot Ave. (look for traffic light and crosswalk), park along the right side of the road on the grass area adjacent to shoulder; from Sunrise Highway and points east, take Veterans Memorial Highway north about 6 miles to the intersection with Connetquot Ave., make a U turn at traffic signal and head south on Veterans Highway a short distance and park to the right.
