Explore a portion of the Long Island Trail in central Suffolk County; an out and back hike beginning at Hidden Pond Park in Hauppauge; hike will proceed north and will pass through wetlands that can be muddy; bring water, inclement weather cancels (text or call if in doubt); meet at Hidden Pond Park; from the L.I. E. Exit 58, go north on Old Nichols Road 0.8 miles onto Terry Road, go left onto Terry Road and continue about three quarters of a mile to Hidden Pond Park (left side of road, 660 Terry Road, Hauppauge); enter the park, go past a large parking lot on your right and continue as the road turns right, go straight to the western-most parking lot (Lot E).
